List Of Smartphones That Will Get Android Marshmallow 6.0 Update

The latest Android OS, Marshmallow 6.0 has been launched yesterday at the Google I/O 15 in San Francisco, 29th September 2015.

Here are some of the smartphones that will get the update via OTA (Over the Air) as culled from AndroidPit.  This is a first List so Start feeling Lucky if you fall under any of the categories below.

Android M -  Google

Google Nexus Android Marshmallow update

As we may know, Nexus is a priority as it's one of Google's big project on smartphones and gadgets.
Google has revealed that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update will delivered OTA to the Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 9, and Nexus Player on the week.

This will begin from October 5, 2015.

Samsung Android Marshmallow update

Samsung has not yet commented on its update schedule, but that hasn't stopped some websites from claiming they have an 'official' list of Samsung devices due to be updated to Android Marshmallow by the end of the year. YouMobile recently added the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ to its list, and while we don't put much stock in the information, most of the devices listed are pretty safe bets.

The Samsung flagships released this year will almost certainly get Android Marshmallow, either before the end of the year or in early 2016. We've reached out for more details on the Android Marshmallow update for Samsung Galaxy devices and will fill you in on anything we hear.

HTC Android Marshmallow update

HTC has already announced that the HTC One models M9 and M9+ will get the Android Marshmallow update. It isn't clear yet when other devices, such as the HTC One (M8), will get it too. Stay tuned for more on the HTC Android Marshmallow update schedule.

LG Android Marshmallow update

Although there is no official word on the LG Android Marshmallow update, the LG G4 and the LG G3 will certainly receive Android Marshmallow. We've sent LG a request for comment regarding its update plans. We will give you details when we get a response.

Sony Android Marshmallow update

On a side note, a Greek website uncovered a comment on LG's Greek Facebook page stating there are no plans for Android 5.1 for the G3, which possibly indicates that the device will jump straight to Android Marshmallow instead.

Motorola Android Marshmallow update

Motorola's smartphones usually get updates quickly, so the Moto X (Pure Edition), Moto X Play and Moto X (2014) should be some of the first smartphones getting the Motorola Android Marshmallow update. But models such as the Moto G (2015), Moto G (2014) and the new Moto E are also likely to get it relatively quickly.

Huawei Android Marshmallow update

Huawei might see Android Marshmallow as something sinister – that's because it must first roll out Android Lollipop to its latest smartphones. 

Only after that can we consider the Huawei Android Marshmallow update as something to look forward to. Huawei has said that the P8 will be the first device to get the Android M update, but has not given us a date for when this will occur.

In the African market, people do hope that soon their smartphone manufacturers , like TECNO, INFINIX, INNJOO and others would be preparing this OS update for its users especially new models as Infinix Hot 2 (Android One) as it's been said that the device's OS is handled by Google themselves.

Also, the new Tecno Phantom 5 which claims to be Premium, a device at that level is not expected to be left be behind at times of updates.

Instagram To Start Showing Ads in few coming weeks

This was the post made by the Instagram Official account right inside the App, we saw the post just 5mins after it was posted and took a screenshot of it as seen in this post.

We are yet to understand how the Instagram Ads tool will be used, or whether it will be open to all of us who use Instagram for us to also advertise, we definitely hope so.

Right now We are only certain that according to the caption of the post, ads will be shown based on your (Instagram users) Interest and you can hide the ad if it's not displaying the type you want to see.

We also noticed at the time the "announcement" was made by Instagram, the post was carrying the "sponsored" tag on the top right of the photo, it was a post yet we could not find the photo on their Timeline.

This is already giving us a glimpse of how the ads will run and we'll surely know more about it very soon.

INFINIX LOLLIPOP UPGRADE For Hot Note and Others - The Complete Guide

Hi there! Today we'll show you how to Upgrade your Infinix HOT NOTE and NOTE PRO from KitKat to Android Lollipop 5.1 OS.

We'll also talk about How you can perform the upgrades on your other various Infinix Models, like INFINIX HOT X507 and INFINIX ZERO 2, more on that later in this post.
However, we should know that each of these Lollipop roms are uniquely different for each model.

We already announced the Updates since August that Infinix Lollipop upgrades had been rolled out and already been on use but Beta versions were having few bugs which have been fixed in the recent ROM updates that we want to give you here now.


Let's Begin:

HOW TO UPGRADE INFINIX HOT NOTE TO LOLLIPOP

STAGE ONE

REQUIREMENTS:
i.) Your PC (running Windows 7 or 8)

ii.) A working USB cable

iii.) Infinix Hot Note X551 Lollipop ROM File >> Download Infinix Hot Note X551 Lollipop Here.
OR Lollipop ROM file >> For Infinix Hot Note Pro (2GB+32GB version)

Extract the file to a folder on your computer after downloading.

iv.) VCOM Drivers, which you can DOWNLOAD HERE


v.) SP Flashtool >> DOWNLOAD THAT HERE


Install the softwares - ( iv.) and ( v.) above
Once you have all those 5 tools ready, you can proceed.

Hollup! just hollup, before we Continue...

N.B:
* Enable USB Debugging mode by going to settings > Developer Options > Enable USB debugging **Upgrade/Flashing will Wipe your phone memory.

Please Ensure you remove your SDcard or Back Up the files your saved in your device's Internal memory, especially Media files (Videos, Music) or whatever's important, like your Contacts, you use this App to Backup your Contact , back them up by moving the Files to your PC or memory card and remove the Memory SD card if you use one in your Infinix Hot Note.

STAGE TWO

1. Be Sure your phone (Hot Note) is Still On and very well charged. Also "Unroot your phone" if it's rooted, you can easily unroot with King Root App.

2. Go to where you Extracted your SP Flash Tool v5.1352.01, inside it, you'll find the file name flash_tool.exe , right click and Run it as Administrator.

For the first time, it will bring a Window saying - The Scatter file cannot found, please make sure the file is exist before download.
Just ignore that by clicking OK.

3. Click SCATTER LOADING, this opens your folder. Navigate into the folder where you had extracted the Lollipop ROM file for Infinix Hot Note X551.
According to my screenshot, I saved my Rom in my Desktop.

Select the scatter file with name - MT6592_Android_scatter.txt

Wait till it completely loads up on the flash programs.

4. On the SP Flashtool, where you see Download only, click and change it to FIRMWARE UPGRADE

5. This is the tricky part, you'll pass if you follow carefully.

*** Pick up the phone, it should be still ON at this stage >> Now plug the USB
On your Flashtool, Click DOWNLOAD icon, wait for some seconds... no worries, nothing happens here.
While it is still plugged in, Now Power OFF your Hot Note Device.

Seconds later, some readings will display on the SP flash tool.

6. Give it some time, Do NOT interrupt the process (well, unless you want to brick your device)

7. When the Process is Complete and successful, You'll get a Green Check Mark saying Download OK in the Flashtool on your PC, now you can unplug your phone.

Power ON the device, Keep calm as this will take a while since it's the first time.

When it's finally On, Follow the Instructions on the Welcome message and we're done!

Fix & Prevent Your Facebook Account From HootSuite & Sociota Spam on your Wall

At the moment some people's Facebook accounts are getting hacked and Spammed via Hootsuite and Sociota, all without their Consent, I don't know How, but you too may have noticed how suddenly your Wall or a Facebook friend's Timeline becomes messed up due to too much spam, this happens fast overnight, posting Spammy Links of blog posts which the account owners are not even aware of.

We recall posting about controlling Facebook tags and How to Keep your Facebook wall clean But this case is a bit different.

It was hacked accounts with 2 of my Friends, Hootsuite was on the First, then HootSuite and Sociota was on that of my other Friend, spamming their Walls with over 20 malicious Links everyday.

How did Hootsuite and/or Sociota get access to post links on their Facebook Timeline?

Trying to find the source of How their Facebook accounts were hacked and those Spammy links came in, I asked several Questions but they still couldn't be able to say where the issue may have sprung from.

I could only tell that the unwanted Links on their Facebook wall/Timeline were coming from HOOTSUITE and SOCIOTA.

I have fixed all of these Facebook Hack/Spam issues with Hootsuite, so just incase you experience a similar case, here's how to Go about removing those spammy links and Keep your Facebook Accounts safe.

** LOGIN TO YOUR FACEBOOK ACCOUNT, Facebook Web on PC precisely.

** Hover to the Right where your see your SETTINGS.

** Hover to the left Menu, click Apps.

** When your click Apps, you'll see a List of all Apps you've used, granted permissions and Linked your Facebook Account with.

** There you'll see HOOTSUITE OR SOCIOTA (depending on the one that's been Spamming your Wall).

** Click the X button near the App to Remove it.
A pop up will ask to confirm deletion

** Make sure you tick >> DELETE ALL YOUR ACTIVITIES, including posts, photos and videos on Facebook. This may take few minutes.

With that, you Don't have to worry about going through stress of Deleting all those Links on your Wall

Keeping your Facebook Account Safe:

To avoid these from happening again, you're expected to change your Password and be careful about the Links you Follow especially links posted by friends you barely know.

Be also more careful with the 3rd party Apps that requests your Permission on Facebook, you'll find some of these Apps while using your Facebook account to Sign up or Login at another website, please be sure you read and understand the Terms of using the App before granting it Permission to access your Facebook account.

3. Tap "WiFi Hotspot"

4. Turn on your PC WiFi, it will detect your Android's hotspot (with name e.g: Xender-ABCXYZ)

5. Click Connect, no need for Password, it connects automatically with your PC.

6. In your PC browser, Make sure your PC Browser settings connections is set to Auto-detect proxy settings for this network.

7. Look at your Xender, an address with "http and IP and port" is shown



8. Type in the Address shown in Xender App in your PC browser
Example >> http://192.168.43.1:33455/
Make sure the Address on the App is exactly same you enter in your PC address bar.

Once you Enter the Address, your phone will Prompt you for Permission, Click "Accept" and there you have it, CONNECTED!

MOVING FILES FROM YOUR PHONE TO PC -

In your PC browser, Just open the Gallery, Files, from the Home Menu displayed and Mark the one(s) you want to move to your PC and Download them with your PC browser. It will be saved on your PC.
You can even Search for files and folder you want to move to your PC.

MOVING FILES FROM PC TO PHONE -

A bit more longer steps to follow but is still easy.
Moving files from PC to your mobile device (Android/iOS) depends on the format of the file you want to move to your device.
Looking at the Menu on your PC browser, you'll find icons and you'll surely know what they mean, if you'd like to move a Video that is in your PC to your Android.

*To move a video file, Click the Video Icon in the Menu found by the Left side.
*For Mp3 songs, click the MP3 icon there, etc.

*For Unknown files, click the folder icon displayed below. You can also move any type of file by using the Folder icon.

*Another amazing idea about this is that you can Install on App directly from your PC into your Phone by clicking the Apps icon.

Here's how I moved a movie using the Folder icon:

a. After clicking the folder icon on PC, select the destination folder in your device, precisely where you want to move the file to.

b. Click the Upload, find the file you want to move

c. Use All Files(*.*) option  in your PC upload options to view all file types,
When you find the file, double click the file you want to upload to your Phone.

UPDATE: 
If you can't find the file you want to move from your PC to phone, take note of the File name, copy it, when you reach step (c) , paste the file name with file extension (e.g - Myimportantfile.txt ) and hit open.

Check your Android device; You'll notice a Red download icon when you tap it, you'll see something like the screenshot below which shows the file is moving to the phone.

Once you're done, you can click "Disconnect" on the Xender app on your Android device.

The Feel upon Holding it is not as Premium as the Infinix Zero 2 but it still gives very much accepted impression considering the affordable Price.

A QUICK FIX: Samsung Galaxy A3 Bootloops & Refuses To Power On Due To Soft Brick

Brick Issues normally arise while trying to perform different operations on our Samsung Galaxy A3, i.e : after Rooting, Flashing Firmware, Stock ROMs, Custom ROMs etc.
This is usually the Soft bricking where by the Samsung Galaxy A3 went on Bootloop, being unable to Boot, like in my case, after rooting successfully, upon restart it shows the Samsung Galaxy A3 Logo with Powered by Android beneath, seconds later it Freezes and turns White with colors and dots....and that was the End. It goes Blank again.

I tried Downloading and ReFlashing with another Firmware but where the firmware was almost Installed, I got Errors "Volume size too big ODIN: Invalid ext4 image"

According to my understanding after research, this Firmware flashing error occurred because my Galaxy A3 Device was Region Locked.

Yet the case remains that the device can't boot up, I needed to Wake up the Bricked Galaxy A3 device.
Unbricking it was later successful with a simple patch I used.

My Model number - GALAXY A3 (SM-A300FU)BUILD Number -  A300FUXXU1BOF4
Android OS - 5.0.2

It should work for you if your device has anything similar to the above.

Here's How to Fix Your Soft Bricked Galaxy A3 when It Refuses to Boot On.

REQUIREMENTS:

a. - Odin3 version 3.10.7 >> DOWNLOAD HERE

b. - The correct PIT File for Galaxy A3.
Mine was A300FU so I used this PIT File >> DOWNLOAD HERE

c. - A Good USB Cable

STEPS
1. Open Odin3 (Run as Administrator)

2. Enter Download Mode on your Samsung Galaxy:
PRESS AND HOLD for some seconds - VOLUME DOWN + HOME KEY + POWER BUTTON

3. Press Volume-Up Key to Enter Download Mode.

4. I believe your Odin is already Opened right? Now Connect the USB Cable to the phone and PC

5. Odin Should Detect the COM Port number to which your device is Plugged in. If it doesn't close and reopen the Odin.
You should see ID:COM Displayed underneath

Click the PIT Box and click Ok when a confirmation Prompt Pops up.

Locate where you  Unzipped the Pit File you downloaded earlier.

File name should be something Like >> A3ULTE_EUR_OPEN.pit
Select the pit file.

N.B:
When you go to Options ensure that these 3 options are ticked:
> Auto reboot is ticked
>Re-Partition is Ticked (this comes Unticked but since we are dealing with PIT File, the PIT file is meant to handle your phone memory partition correctly, this is why you have to Tick this too)
>F.Reset time is ticked

Now move down and click START.
This is a very small file so it should take just a second to install.

You Immediately Get "PASSED" shown on Odin3.

Your Samsung Galaxy A3 will reboot and Brick will be Fixed.
